F-Secure's VPN is deliberately simple. The apps expose a protocol setting for advanced users but the product is not built around protocol choice the way power-user services are, and the feature list is short by design.

F-Secure states plainly that it does not create traffic logs and does not sell or share your traffic or your data. Coming from a company with decades of standing in European security research, that carries more weight than the same sentence from an unknown brand, though F-Secure does not publish an independent audit of the VPN specifically.

Finnish Jurisdiction and GDPR

Finland is the strongest argument for this product. F-Secure operates under Finnish law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, and states that it is protected from government requests that do not meet EU legal standards.

Speed and Performance

A small network concentrated in a limited set of countries means fewer nearby options, and distance to the exit server is usually the largest single factor in day-to-day VPN speed. If you are far from F-Secure's coverage, that will show.

Streaming and Unblocking

Streaming is F-Secure's weakest area and the main reason its overall score sits below its privacy score. There are no dedicated streaming servers and no marketing around catalog access.

Server Network

F-Secure covers a comparatively small set of countries, with some regions offering more than one location. This is the clearest trade-off in the product: you get a well-regarded European company and a tightly run service, and you give up the breadth that larger providers advertise.
