top10vpns@protonmail.com// HOW I REVIEW
Everything on this site is written and scored by one person, which is worth knowing before you weigh any of it. Working alone rules some things out: there is no test lab here and no fleet of devices on a bench. What it makes possible is a rule applied without exception, which is that a published claim has to trace back to something a reader can go and check for themselves. The four points below describe how that works in practice, and the scoring methodology sets out the six categories behind every number on the site.
Scores, prices, server counts, protocols and features come from what each provider publishes about itself. If a figure cannot be traced back to a provider's own documentation, it does not go on the page.
This site does not operate a speed lab, and it does not claim to. Where a performance figure appears it is described as what it is, and where we hold nothing the guide says so rather than filling the gap.
Rankings are derived from the category scores rather than typed in, so a provider cannot be moved up the page without changing something a reader can inspect.
Where a guide would need data the site does not hold, such as per-country server lists or broadcast rights, it says so in the guide instead of implying a result.
